AI·STEM-Based Music Technology Portfolio Composition Lessons
Open to: Grades 6–12 & Adults
Music Technology? - An interdisciplinary portfolio project that bridges artistic sensibility with engineering principles to demonstrate creative problem-solving skills.
This course is an AI·STEM·Music Technology composition program where students create their own melodies and beats, train AI models with them, and use probability-based generative techniques to produce original music. Students naturally learn about data, algorithms, probability models, and music analysis while building a high-level portfolio that supports college applications.
No prior knowledge of music theory, coding, or AI is required. Everything is taught step-by-step from the fundamentals.
Instead of memorizing complex Python syntax, the course focuses on using AI to design and operate machine-learning models in a hands-on way.
Students select MIDI data, use prompt engineering to guide the AI, and directly manage the training process to create their own works.
This approach removes the coding barrier and helps students understand the full workflow of data processing, treating technology not just as a tool but as a true creative partner.
Beyond technical skills, students experience the joy of creating and developing their own music.
They study how their melodies expand and transform through AI generation, then arrange and mix the final tracks in a DAW.
All completed projects can be officially released on platforms such as Spotify or Apple Music, becoming part of each student’s unique portfolio and artistic record.
Lessons are also available for learners who simply want to create and release their own music.
K-Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, EDM, and most other genres can be covered.
Lesson Topics
AI music generation and machine-learning model training using Python / Suno
